Ceteka (Lewis) Gooch, affectionately called Mrs. G. by many of her former students, is a mathematics teacher from John Overton High School. During her five years at Overton, she taught Algebra I and II (honors), and Geometry (honors). Mrs. Gooch was the co-chair of the math department, and taught credit recovery classes after school. She also helped coach the freshmen girls??? volleyball team and served as a Gateway test tutor. In addition, during the summers, Mrs. Gooch teaches summer school at various high school throughout the district.

Mrs. Gooch is a native Nashvillian, and is a proud product of Metro Nashville Public Schools. She attended Julia Green Elementary, Walter Stokes Middle , J.T. Moore Junior High, and graduated with honors from Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School. After high school, Mrs. Gooch went to Tennessee State University (Go Tigers!), where she earned her bachelors degree in mathematics, graduating magna cum laude. During her undergraduate career, she was inducted into several honor societies, including Alpha Kappa Mu, Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key. In addition, Mrs. Gooch joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity while at TSU.

Mrs. Gooch is the daughter of Walter and Bobbie Lewis. Her mother, Bobbie Lewis, also works in Metro, as a special education teacher for Hillsboro High School. Mrs. Gooch has two younger siblings, Walter Lewis, a recent University of Memphis Law School graduate, and Stacey Lewis-Hodges, a devoted stay-at-home mother of two. Mrs. Gooch is married to Michael Gooch, a Vanderbilt Divinity School student, who works as a team leader for Metro Parks and Recreation. Outside of her professional life, Ceteka enjoys spending time with her husband, reading the Bible, and playing with her niece and nephew, Leah and ?

Mrs. Gooch will teach mathematics at Cane Ridge and is very excited about the year to come. GO RAVENS!!!!
