Cortnei Scott is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
She relocated to Nashville in the fall of 2003 upon
enrollment at Fisk University. After graduating in
May of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in English, she
decided to remain in the city for further study in
broadcasting and education. In March of 2008, she
received certification in Radio &
Television Broadcasting from CSB-School of
Broadcasting and currently received Master's Degree
in Learning & Teaching from Lipscomb University in
May of 2009. She finds education to be quite a
determining factor in the success of all mankind and
therefore has taken her schooling very seriously.
She was valedictorian of her high school graduating
class, graduated Summa Cum Laude from college, and
was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
In her spare time, she loves to sing at various
venues around Nashville as well as anywhere else the
opportunity arises. She also attends Living Word
Community Church, where she is a member of the
Praise Team and teaches a Bible Study Class for
10-12 year olds. She is a firm believer of doing
what makes one happy and not subjecting oneself to
the pressure of others, for it is one's own life
that is affected first. She believes one's own
feelings and actions toward that decision will, in
turn, affect those around them. Her ultimate goal is
to share her knowledge and experiences with others,
from grammar and composition to following one's
aspirations and achieving one’s goals. She believes
in going above and beyond in all that she does,
while being careful not to lose herself in the
process. “If you always do what you’ve always done,
you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.” |
