Gloria Reese, Ed D |

Dr. Reese is a competent and caring educator with over 20 years of experience. She earned her Ed.D. from Tennessee State University specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. She has endorsements in English, speech and drama, and supervision and administration. Professionally, Dr.Reese began her teaching career in education as a sixth grade teacher, in Franklin, TN where she was born and raised. She has taught on every grade level to include elementary, middle and high school. Dr. Reese has taught Advanced Placement for grade 12, Honors English II and III and Journalism. Teaching Honors and AP English courses have been challenging and most rewarding for her. As a matter of fact, when Dr. Reese taught English II, her class successfully passed the Gateway exam with 100% proficiency. In addition to teaching for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, Dr. Reese has taught in various other places to include Texas, New Jersey, and the Department of Defense. As a high school teacher, Dr. Reese has worked with Academic Achievement, AVID, credit recovery, and the forensic team. Publishing the school newspaper was a task that her Journalism students thoroughly enjoyed. Challenging and motivating her students to reach their full academic and personal potential is Dr. Reese?s ultimate goal. Dr. Reese has received numerous awards; not least was the prestigious Brotherhood-Sisterhood Award by the national Conference for Community and Justice to honor volunteers who foster understanding and diversity in the community. Over the years, it has been an honor for her to be nominated for outstanding teacher of the year. Dr. Reese is married to Charles Reese III, retired military officer. They have four children. Dr. Charita Littles, who practices family medicine in Texas, Camille McMullen, federal prosecutor, Memphis, TN, Chiara Reese, Business Management, and C. Christopher Reese. Dr. Reese has eight grand children. Traveling, public speaking, poetry, and playing word games are a few of the things that Dr. Reese enjoys in her spare time. |
