Coach Tribue was born in Antioch and graduated from Antioch High School. There she was very active in athletics playing 3 sports, and receiving many different honors. Some of her most memorable awards are 12 years perfect attendance in high school, first State Pentathlon Champion, and set a National record in the 80 yd hurdles. After graduation, she attended Austin Peay State University. She played basketball and ran track for 4 years. She was inducted into the APSU Hall of fame in 1988. During graduate school, she was hired at Shelbyville Central High School as a Physical Education teacher, Girls Assistant Basketball, and Head Varsity Track Coach. Spending 2 years in Shelbyville, she returned home to teach and coach at Neely?s Bend Middle School. Joanne was hired as an original faculty member at Hunters Lane High School. She was the first Head Girls Track and Freshman Basketball Coach. Coach Tribue served 22 years at Hunters Lane and has coached Basketball, Cross Country, and Track. She has received honors for coaching and teaching. Joanne Tribue is currently serving as a member of the Metro Schools Hall Of Fame Committee. She served on the Standard committee for Physical Education, and has worked in the TSSAA State Track meet every year since 1985. She is married to Michael Tribue Sr. and they have 3 children together. She is an active member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Antioch. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
