Softball Coach, Lance Lott

Following his career in healthcare finance and information technology with HCA and HealthTrust Inc., in 1993 Lance and his wife Martha started an information technology company called InfoAdvantage. The company specialized in collaborative software and workflow application development.

In the mid-1990?s, Lance established a goal of moving from the business sector and into high school teaching. Toward that goal he began working as the Chief Technology Officer for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in 2001. He also earned a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University in 2005.

Lance has coached either baseball or fastpitch softball for over thirty years. The early years were spent coaching baseball for ages 8-15. In 1998, he began coaching fastpitch and has served as both head and assistant coach for ages 9-16. His teams won the USSSA Tennessee State 12-Under Championship ?A? Division in 2001 and won the NSA National Championship 14-U ?A? Division in 2003. Lance also served as a volunteer assistant coach for NAIA Trevecca University in 2008. He has attended the three-day NFCA Coaches Clinic on Offensive Strategies and is working on a certification as a Master Coach.

Lance will coach the first year of Cane Ridge softball in 2009 while maintaining a position at the central office as an Assistant Superintendent. He is scheduled to begin his teaching career in the Business Academy at Cane Ridge High School in 2009-2010.
