Melissa Harkreader is the assistant principal of the
Architecture & Construction Academy and the Arts,
Business & Communications Academy at Cane Ridge High
School.
Prior to her assistant principal position, Mrs.
Harkreader was the SLC Site Coordinator and worked with
administrators, teachers, support staff, district
personnel, community leaders, parents, and students to
implement wall-to-wall academies at Cane Ridge High
School. Mrs. Harkreader spent 17 years as a Career &
Technical Education teacher in Business Technology. She
began her teaching career in Maury County, Tennessee in
1991, but spent 15 years in Metro Nashville Public
Schools at Hunters Lane High School, John Overton High
School, and Cane Ridge High School.
Mrs. Harkreader is a 1987 graduate of Antioch High
School and has a B.S. (1991) and an M.B.E. (1994) from
Middle Tennessee State University and an M.Ed. from
Tennessee State University (2009). She and her husband,
Michael, have two children, Hailey and Dylan (ages 13
and 9).
