Natalie Boyd is a very enthusiastic teacher who loves her subject!  Here at Cane Ridge High School, she teaches Geometry and Pre-Calculus.  She also is the assistant coach for the girls’ soccer team.  Prior to Cane Ridge, she taught for two years at T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, SC. (The movie “Radio” comes from TLH, and Mrs. Boyd saw and talked to Radio almost every day while teaching there).  Over the past few years, she has really developed a passion for teaching and for helping students learn and succeed in math.

 Mrs. Boyd grew up in Columbia, South Carolina.  She went to high school at Spring Valley High School, where she sang in chorus and played varsity soccer.  She got her degree in Mathematical Sciences and Secondary Math Education from Clemson University in Clemson, SC (Go Tigers!).  She also minored in Music with an emphasis in voice.  One of the best experiences she had in college was getting to be a part of Clemson TakeNote, the university’s all female a cappella group.  She loves to sing as much as she loves math!

 Both of Mrs. Boyd’s parents were teachers while she was growing up.  She always said she would not be a teacher because of that, but it turned out she couldn’t really help it.  Teaching is in her blood!  Mrs. Boyd has one sister, and she attends University of Alabama.  Mrs. Boyd is married to Dewey Boyd—a super awesome man who loves math and music as much as her!  Both Mr. Boyd and Mrs. Boyd have dreams of opening a recording studio of their own one day.  In her spare time, Mrs. Boyd likes to sing, spend time with friends and family, and eat ice cream J

 Mrs. Boyd is very excited to be a part of the Cane Ridge Raven family and thinks this year is going to be a great one.  GO RAVENS!
