Ryan Feris was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Coach Feris attended high school at Downers Grove South where he played football and wrestled. After graduating in ???92, Coach Feris spent four years in the United States Marine Corp (???92-???96). He was stationed in California, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Japan. Once receiving an honorable discharge from the Marines, Coach Feris used the Illinois Veterans Grant and G.I. Bill to attend Southern Illinois University. At Southern, he majored in physical education and was a member of the SIU Men???s Rugby Team. After graduating in 2001, Coach Feris was hired by Metro Nashville Public Schools as a Physical Educator at Antioch Middle School. The last seven years Ryan has been at Antioch Middle where he also coached football and wrestling. The sports programs at Antioch have been very successful over the years. The football team played in the city championship game in 2003, went to the play-offs in 2003 and 2007, and played in a bowl game in 2006. The football team???s overall record with Coach Feris is 28-18. The wrestling team has been one of the top four teams in the city for the last six years and won city championships in 2004 and 2008. The AMS wrestling team dual meet record over the last seven years is 60-5-1. Coach Feris is very excited about his move to Cane Ridge where he will start the wrestling program and coach the freshman football team.
