Sharonda
Blackman is a native of Nashville; she graduated
from Hillsboro High School (class of 98). It was at
Hillsboro where the psychology field became a
profession of interest. She was intrigued and
inspired by her high school Language Arts teacher,
the late Aja Cosey, she was regal and refined.
Sharonda waited until the last minute of her senior
year to apply for college and received a full
scholarship to Lane College in Jackson, TN. A year
later she transferred to Tennessee State University,
where she received a Bachelor?s in Psychology
(2002). She was not satisfied with average; she
graduated from Tennessee State University with a
Master?s in Guidance & School Counseling (2004).
After college, Sharonda was a middle school guidance
counselor in Lebanon, TN. A year later, she spent
two years at Glencliff High School under the
leadership of Dr. Lora Hall. In 2007, she ventured
to Maplewood School for one year. She is now being
reunited once again for the 2008-2009 school year
with Dr. Lora Hall at Cane Ridge High School. She
had obstacles along the way but knew that her mother
had instilled greatness in her and that obstacles
were only bumps that were meant to be overcome. She
loves working with the youth and is so excited to be
a member of the Cane Ridge High School family. She
looks forward to working with and forming meaningful
relationships with the upcoming students and
parents.
