 Ms.
Schmidt grew up in Murray, Kentucky and began her teaching
career in Houston, Texas. She took an eight year break from
teaching to spend time with her children, Angela and Drew,
after they were born. She has 22 years of experience working
with students as a teacher and librarian. In Tennessee she
has taught chemistry and advanced placement biology at Mt.
Juliet High School and Antioch High School. In 2006 she
decided to try something new and exciting, and became a
library media specialist. She served as the media specialist
at Wright Middle School for two years before coming to Cane
Ridge. Ms. Schmidt sees her role, as teacher and librarian,
as one who makes information available to students and helps
them use this information in a way that best promotes
learning. She loves working with students and hopes to make
the library media center the core of student learning at
Cane Ridge High School.
